Near-collision between an empty passenger train and another passenger train

On Tuesday 11 July 2023, around 8.20 p.m., an empty passenger train operating a shunting movement derailed at Denderleeuw. Ten minutes later, another passenger train, travelling on track A of line 89 and having 30 passengers on board, nearly collided with this derailed passenger train. As a result of this accident, tracks A and B of line 89 remained out of service for over 6 hours.
