Train misdirected towards an occupied track
On Thursday, August 20, at about 2pm, a freight train was misdirected during a RMI/VRG shift (Contactperson Responsible for Shunting Infrastructure Manager) towards a track on which wagons from a previous RMI/VRG shift were already parked at the Pelikaan marshalling yard in Zeebrugge. An emergency braking prevented a collision and no one was injured. As a result of this incident, no traffic was possible to and from the marshalling yard for an hour.
