Derailment of a freight train
On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at approximately 10:10 a.m., a freight train carriage derailed and overturned at the entrance to the Mons station grid on line 96, its load of metal pipes falling onto the adjacent line 97.
The rolling stock and infrastructure were damaged, and train service was interrupted on lines 96 and 97, but there were no casualties.
