Runaway of a passenger train
On Friday 24 May 2024, at around 9:16 a.m., a passenger train with no driver on board runs away from platform 5 of Mechelen station during an uncoupling manoeuvre. The train with about 30 passengers on board runs through a switch on track B of line 53. The passenger train stops after a train passenger operates the emergency brake.
