The investigation reports serve as a reminder as well as an archive, but also allow the lessons learned from accidents and\/or incidents to be recognised. Their goal is to encourage the circulation of knowledge acquired in the course of different analyses.<\/p>\r\n<p>The investigation reports follow the reporting structure prescribed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32020R0572\">Commission\u2019s Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020\/572 of 24 April 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The various report types published by the IU are:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n\t<li>Bulletin of general information<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Temporary safety investigation report<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Safety investigation report<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Summary<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h4><span class=\"txt-bleu-moyen\"><strong>Bulletin of <\/strong><strong>general<\/strong><strong> information<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n\t<li>Bulletins of general information are a way of quickly sharing the salient facts when we have decided to conduct an investigation.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>After bringing the primary elements together, the IU publishes a bulletin of general information on this website containing factual information;<\/li>\r\n\t<li>The bulletin of general information does not contain an analysis of the event or any conclusions.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>A safety investigation report or a safety notice will be published subsequently.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\r\n<h4><span class=\"txt-bleu-moyen\"><strong>Safety investigation report and <\/strong><strong>summary<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The report outlines the elements that have allowed conclusions to be drawn.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The content is determined in appendix 6 of the law on the railway code.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The IU publishes the report in two languages (French and Dutch).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A summary containing the main elements of the investigation, the conclusions and the recommendations is published in 4 languages (English, French, Dutch and German).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\r\n<h4><span class=\"txt-bleu-moyen\"><strong>Temporary<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>safety<\/strong><strong> investigation report<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>When we are unable to complete an investigation within 1 year, we publish a temporary safety investigation report.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every investigation into an accident or incident is subject to a report prepared in a format appropriate to the type and severity of the accident or incident and the importance of the investigation&#8217;s results.
